Up for the Run

Runners prepping...about to start

We all have a bucket list we want check off, right? Well, one of the listings I have in my list is to run a marathon. I actually haven't ran a whole marathon yet, but I'm doing baby steps, well in this case, I guess you can say it was a skip. This past May, I ran a half-marathon at the Pasadena Marathon. It was definitely a great experience and I would do it all over again. I wasn't going for time because it wasn't a race for me. It was my very first run and I am proud of myself for finishing it. Heck, I'm proud of myself for starting it. I would recommend everyone to do at least one half-marathon. I guarantee you will learn something about yourself.

If you ever do plan on running a marathon, make sure you don't do it by yourself, unless you trained for it, of course. Oh, don't forget to bring some of those gel (glucose) thingies because you might need it, like how I needed it... actually badly needed it. They really work. Trust me. I am very grateful on how much support I got from my friends and family. They helped a lot. But I do have to thank my good friends Ethel and her brother Erick for sticking my side all through the way. I really don't think I could've done it without them.

We all choose our battles, but sometimes putting yourself in a challenging situation just might make you realize how strong you are and how much fight you have in yourself.

We're down to kick it...

My good friend's Jackie and Jr had extra tickets to a Galaxy game and chose to invite us. Since I never went to a Soccer game before, I told her "heck ya, I'm down!" So last night, Saturday, June 13th, me and Nathan accompanied a few of my friends to the LA Galaxy vs Toronto FC Soccer game at the Home Depot Soccer Stadium, Carson CA. I wasn't sure how to feel about watching a soccer game but I must say, it was more exciting than I thought. I really enjoyed it. It was my first Professional Soccer game I ever watched. Now I did bring the little monkey along, so I was a bit nervous on how he would react. I don't know why I bother doubting him because he was awesome from beginning to end (as always). If anything, I think he made it more exciting for all of us. Not only did I enjoy my very first Soccer game, but it's safe to say, Nathan did as well. It's always great spending nights with great Guam friends. Nate surely enjoyed being around his entertaining uncles and auntie. He had enough energy to last the night and kept up with us. He's such a trooper, for reals. I'm so proud of him.

Fun night with good friends.

Thank you Jackie and Jr for a fun and cheerful night. I wish the LA Galaxy won (almost), but I guess a tie is better than a defeat. It was definitely an exciting game. This experience gave me a different and positive feeling towards Soccer, so if anyone ever wants to watch a game... I'm down :)

The many cute faces of Nate

Cabo San Lucas Getaway

So a few months ago my work announced that they will be taking us to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico as an appreciation for making last year's company goal. My Reaction..."Heck ya!!!" It was an All-inclusive fully-paid trip for 4 days & 3 nights at Riu Palace Hotel... plus one. =) It was a long awaited anticipated trip, but as soon as we knew it, we were already returning back from it. You know what they say... when you are having too much fun, time flies by really fast. Sure enough, that is exactly what happened.

I brought the perfect person as my plus one and I wouldn't have it any other way. Marj was the perfect partner in crime and our craves for fun and adventure synced perfectly well. A few of our activities included Para-sailing, Horse back riding, a trip to the "island," Picture crazy, dancing the nights away, Beach Volleyball everyday & of course, making new and awesome friends. It also gave us a time to catch up on with each other's life and for future event planning ;) The whole trip was a well needed treat for all of us & I couldn't be any more thankful for it.

Thank you work for the free trip, to Marj for being an awesome partner in crime & to all the new friends we made that weekend. It was definitely one for the books.
