Runners prepping...about to start
We all have a bucket list we want check off, right? Well, one of the listings I have in my list is to run a marathon. I actually haven't ran a whole marathon yet, but I'm doing baby steps, well in this case, I guess you can say it was a skip. This past May, I ran a half-marathon at the Pasadena Marathon. It was definitely a great experience and I would do it all over again. I wasn't going for time because it wasn't a race for me. It was my very first run and I am proud of myself for finishing it. Heck, I'm proud of myself for starting it. I would recommend everyone to do at least one half-marathon. I guarantee you will learn something about yourself.
If you ever do plan on running a marathon, make sure you don't do it by yourself, unless you trained for it, of course. Oh, don't forget to bring some of those gel (glucose) thingies because you might need it, like how I needed it... actually badly needed it. They really work. Trust me. I am very grateful on how much support I got from my friends and family. They helped a lot. But I do have to thank my good friends Ethel and her brother Erick for sticking my side all through the way. I really don't think I could've done it without them.
We all choose our battles, but sometimes putting yourself in a challenging situation just might make you realize how strong you are and how much fight you have in yourself.
